Bright pops of color to brighten up winter

If there is one thing that can make you feel down in the dumps… it’s gray skies every day.

One thing I’ve learned to beat the winter blues is nutrition, exercise… and COLOR! πŸ™‚

It can be in the form of clothing, makeup, nail polish, accessories, shoes etc.

You get the point πŸ˜‰

It’s always hard for me to break out of my comfort zoneΒ  with makeup in particular, because I am just not an “every day” makeup person.

If I do put it on, I usually stick with nudes and neutral tones,

From time to time I like to break out a bright red or a plum lipstick, and wow it’s an instant mood lift!

This one is Rimmel and is called “Under My Spell”. Ohhh spooky! haha.

It smells like candy, which makes me like it even more LOL!

Are you into bright colors?

P.S. In case you’re noticing the background stuff, I FINALLY got an organizer and was able to put things in their place. I didn’t realize how random my makeup collection is. πŸ˜›

@jodi the compact is a blush.. I had to upgrade my usual peach tones with that one so I can put it with my plum lips hehe.
@Fariha what I love about a bright lip, is you don’t really need to add anything else πŸ™‚ Would love to know what you end up trying!

Salam Mariam, I love playing with makeup and tend to go with color versus nudes. Colors make me look more alive whereas no color makes me look washed out and drained. I think you can achieve a good, natural look with a pop of color and it does put pep into your step! I like that Rimmel color! What is in the compact? That color looks really nice too! I think you’d look great in color. Besides, it’s always washable, that’s the fun of moving out of your comfort zone with makeup. πŸ™‚ Now I have to get mine organized!

I always want to try a pop of color when it comes to my lip color, but whenever I put on something bright, I feel like it’s TOO bright. I need to get more comfortable with using more color. I’m so used to wearing light colors and nude tones. I’ll have to give it another try πŸ™‚
