Time for your thoughts on Headscarf Above Water

I was going to post another episode of Headscarf Above Water this week, but because it is close to Eid, and I’m in the midst of trying to renovate the apartment.. plus we are having some water leak issues from the neighbor.. I thought I’d take a brief hiatus.

This also gives me a chance to ask you for your feedback.

Do you enjoy this podcast? What would you like to hear more of? Less of?

You can listen to Episode 1 here, Episode 2 here, and Episode 3 here.

Of course it’s only 3 episodes in, and I was using Ramadan as a sort of test phase for it… so there may not be much to analyze about it.

Just to clarify for anyone who isn’t sure what it’s all about. It’s basically my version of a reality show. A term I like to call “reality radio”. A glimpse into my life and what goes on behind the scenes… and the experiences I have, the people I meet etc. Of course it’s a bit tough to get people to agree to be recorded. So it takes time, and I also have to go through hours of tape to come up with a short segment.

I plant to be taping and compiling more material, and will bring more episodes soon inshallah.

But, it would definitely be much appreciated if you have any feedback you’d like to share! 🙂

Dear Sertae7,Thank you so much for your interesting blog. I’m not muislm, but I’m a women and I’ve been working in some muislm countries were I have dearest friends. I completely agree with you: “we should really teach young women is to empower themselves. veiling or unveiling should remain as their choice”. And in fact this should be our aim in ALL the countries with ALL the women. We need to empower ourselves and stay together for our common objectives and better future. Kind regards,Sofia

I just listened to them all Mariam and I am really enjoying them! I love your interaction with your girls as well. Please keep them coming! Very refreshing! Do include more of your girls and your hubby as well. I like to hear the daily family life and things we take for granted that might seem mundane really are not. Thanks for sharing! xx
