It’s all about the contour

I have to admit, I’m not one to keep up with makeup trends.

I do the tried and true looks that I taught myself when I was in middle and high school.

A little eye shadow, some mascara, blush and you’re good to go.. maybe some eyeliner if I want to be bold.

Well, several weeks ago I came across this contour kit by IT Cosmetics at Ulta. It’s called “My Sculpted Face”¬†and I thought it might be fun to try.

What’s crazy is just how much you can change the shape of your face by shadowing it in certain places.

I’m not sure it works on me, but here is a pic I took after attempting it and yes I had to give a half duck face just to show how much it can emphasize the cheekbones.

Please ignore the mess behind me.. as you can see one of the kids taped some construction paper to the wall. She was making scenery for a performance haha.

I think contouring is probably good for photographs and if you have a job where you’re on camera. Because you can sort of tell if you walk up to someone when they’ve done the contour look, but I presume if you blend it in well enough it won’t look so obvious.

What are your thoughts on this trend?
