Winter is that time of year, depending on where you live, that really can wreak havoc on your skin.
If you’re pumping the heat up, your skin will get dry and itchy. You might then start slathering on lotions and creams to make up for the dryness.
But, there are some things you can do in your home to counter that effect:
- Use a humidifier. Cool mist works great especially when you’ve got the heat up.
- Drink lots of water. Often times we only associate thirst with hot weather. Well putting heat in your home is just like hot weather, so drink up!
- Take cooler temperature showers and baths.
- Apply a light body oil or lotion after showering to trap the moisture in your skin.
Our dermatologist recommends these products, and we have to say, they really do work on dry skin, and some of them are multipurpose. You can put the coconut oil or jojoba oil in your hair and deep condition!
BONUS TIP: Coconut oil can be used for cooking and baking, but make sure to buy a separate jar!
