Ending 2013 with a bang!

Mariam Sobh Hijab Fashion and Hijab Style Blog

I can’t believe how fast time flies. It seems like just yesterday I was writing about 2009 coming to an end.

Because I’m a worry wart I start to think of stories I was told as a child, “When time starts to pass quickly, it’s a sign of the day of judgement.” And then I panic and look at my life and wonder what have I done with it? Am I really prepared for judgement day?

Now, I’m not trying to bring up a heavy topic or start a religious debate, I’m just shedding light into how my mind wanders at times.

In any case, here we are, and another New Year is almost upon us.

As I look back on this past year I can’t believe how much I’ve accomplished.

Usually I focus on the future and what I’m hoping to get done whether it’s to exercise more or write better posts on Hijabtrendz.

This time I am looking forward and also looking back.

I want to be aware of how far I’ve come.

That way anytime I say, “I feel like I haven’t done anything with my life” I can actually correct myself and be proud of what I’ve done.

I’m very hopeful and excited for 2014.

And I know that as long as I try not to let my mind wander as in the example above 😉 I should be OK.

What are you plans for the New Year? Have you done what you set out to do for 2013? How will 2014 be different for you?

Omg! I also remember hearing things like that as a child! I would have a hard time going to bed if i was told anything about judgement day. Subhan Allah…it makes you wonder how time is really going by much more quickly then it used to. May Allah grant us the straight path, ameen.
