Ceyelle is a new online fashion and home decoration line “inspired by Muslims around the world”.
Hijabi fashionistas Imene Rafii and Khadija Essanoussi have recently launched the line.
And we recently interviewed Imene about how it all began.
How did you come up with the name?
The name was influenced by the word Ciel in French, which means Heaven or Paradise.
Who is behind the brand?
My partner Khadija Essanoussi and I are behind the brand. Khadija is a Dutch/Moroccan fashion designer, and I am a Dutch/Lebanese graphic designer.
Where are you currently based?
We are based in Dubai, UAE (Khadija Essanoussi) and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, (Imene Rafii).
Why did you decide to start it?
We really wanted to start a Fashion and Home decoration line inspired by Muslims around the world and across all cultural borders.
Our fashion line is meant to inspire and allow women to express themselves fashionably and elegantly without compromising their modesty.
We have begun with our casual line, and some of the jewelry of the Bridal collection, but our plan is to expand into Casual Collection, Formal Collection (Abayas, Kaftans, Moroccan Dresses), Bridal Collection (Jewelry and Bridal accessories), Islamically inspired Graphic clothing and gift items(Islamic quotes and imagery on Tshirts, mugs, purses etc), and Islamically inspired home decoration.
We also feel that it’s not always affordable or easy to find modest clothing, so we wanted to make sure at least part of our collection was affordable.
Another thing that was important to us was to try to help people in need. So every few months Ceyelle will inshAllah dedicate a selection of items where all the profit will go to a charity organization.
How has the reception been so far?
We have started around 4 or 5 months ago, and we have been online for less than two months but we have had a great reception from friends and clients.
People who have bought our products are happy with our clothes’ quality and style Alhamdulillah. We also are doing all our own model photography and graphics to help make Ceyelle professional and successful.
Where do you sell your items?
Since we are relatively new we are currently officially only selling in the UAE and KSA, through our Facebook page, but we hope to be selling in Lebanon and the Netherlands soon InshaAllah.
As we grow we plan to branch out into a worldwide online store inshaAllah.
