In the past few weeks, I haven’t set foot inside a store. I haven’t been near a mall. I’ve deleted all the coupons I’ve received in my email inbox. Even shoes and books haven’t tempted me, which anyone who knows me will recognize as very strange.
My desire to shop has seemingly disappeared.
This is a definitely a good thing for my wallet. I often go shopping just because I’m bored. I don’t always buy anything, but I do love browsing.
Maybe it’s because I’ve been bogged down with work, although that usually sends me looking for an escape. Maybe it’s the cold, but I love winter and never let it detract me from being outdoors.
Granted, I do have plenty of winter clothes. The colder months are ideal for hijabi dressing. You can pile on the layers without having to worry about sweating. So, I’ve been sticking to my favorites from past winters.
Plus, I’ve been trying pretty hard to stick to my workout routine. So maybe my subconscious is telling me to hold on tight until I can buy things in a smaller size.
Whatever it is, it’s been nice to have a little extra cash to put away. I’m sure I’ll be tempted to spend some cash again soon. In the meantime, nobody tell me about any amazing sales. I’m on a bit of a shopping hiatus.
