Nia Long in Hijab

Nia Long in Hijab

A friend of ours recently passed along information about a film that is in the works called:”MOOZ-lum” by Qasim “Q” Basir.

It features big name actors Danny Glover and Nia Long. Also playing a small role in the film is Muslim comedian Azhar Usman.

Here is a clip of the cast and crew making the film:

Will you go see it if it hits a theater near you?

  6. Looks like we might see a more complex portrait of Muslims and Islam in America-which is good!

  7. I would love to see it. It probably will play here, I saw a lot of Dearborn scenery in that short clip.

  8. I would definitely go see and I also hope it becomes a big hit-Enshallah!!

  9. I just spent 11 months in the United Arab Emirates on a school reform project. I met the most amazing people (especially teachers) from various Arab countries. As a result of that phenomenal experience, I have a new perspective of Islam and Muslims from different places. I know that now, I can contribute to the dialogue and encourage others who have an iota of humanity and interest in connecting communities as opposed to dividing them, to inquire, explore and learn. I was just turned on to this film a day ago and will continue to find ways that I can support it and our need for education on a human as well as academic level.

    In solidarity,
