The weather is warming up quite a bit and over the last few days it has been in the high 30’s which has really lifted my mood.
I’ve been really busy with work and plan to get back to filming more hijab fashion videos and hijab style tutorials, but I wanted to know if there are any specific topics you’d like me to talk about on video or even certain hijab styles?
A very generous reader sent me a book of hijab styles from Egypt that I plan to incorporate into the tutorials, but I have to admit some of them look a little odd and seem like they’ll take up too much time.
I personally am not a fan of over-the-top hijab styles because they don’t look good unless you’re going to some super fancy party or are a tween, and I honestly don’t have more than 3 minutes to get ready without someone needing something from me it seems. 🙂
But I guess that’s where things differ at least in the U.S. versus the Middle East.
I’ve noticed that overseas hijabis seem to go all out especially in Egypt (correct me if I’m wrong) but then again fashion overseas is bigger.
When I used to go to Lebanon for the summer to visit my dad’s family there was a saying that it didn’t matter if you lived in a shack, the Lebanese will always be dressed to impress.
And it was true.
I saw families who barely had enough to put food on the table, but you better believe those girls were going to show the world how good their clothes and hair and makeup were. Boy did I feel like a slob!
That was back in the day though when I was still in high school. I wonder how it is now.
I’m guessing to some degree it’s the same (obsession with outwardly appearance) but there are just more girls wearing hijab.
What do you guys think? If you live overseas what do you think about the hijab style scene? Is it over the top?

**For those of you wondering about my workout success… over the last few weeks all I have been able to do consistently is to do 30 minutes of walking 4-5 times a week with the occasional visit to the gym where I do weights and running.
How are you guys doing with the workout stuff? I’m hoping now that the weather is getting nice to start running again by the lake.
