Hijab Style File: Glitzy prayer clothes

If you want some nice hijab for prayer then check out salah clothing based in Germany.

Salah literally means prayer so in essence it’s “prayer clothing”. They come in a variety of colors and we have to say we’ve never seen anything like it.

There are also some unique handmade under caps for sale in a satin type material, so if you’re looking for those Turkish hijab style under scarves this might be a great option.

What do you think of these? Would you wear something special just for prayer?

Afshi-try wearing lace underneath the satin.

    Faith, good points…

i love the undercaps. actually I bought similar satin type ones at RIS conference here a couple of weeks ago. They are little slippery though..so I had to jell my hair back to avoid any tiny strands of hair from coming out.
Also got these shiny undercaps (my mom calls the material “moonlight”)..its perfect for a fancy pakistani outfit/sari!

“Oh Children of Adam! Wear your beautiful apparel at every time and place of prayer (…)” [Qur’an 7:31]

Allah is the most deserving to see us with our most expensive and beautiful garments especially in salah.

I like that it’s something different and not the same white prayer outfits that have been since the dawn of time lol. But I do love the under scarves they are really pretty.

I’d like to see them in person though. I’m wondering how shiny they really are.

I love the idea of wearing something pretty and special just for salah.

I don’t know what to think really. I’m kind of saying ‘no’ for prayer but part of me says ‘hmmm’ and I don’t know why! lol I guess I like the colors but do I want to be seen as glitzy during prayer or do I myself even want to feel glitzy! I don’t think so. But perhaps in private? Hmmm….They are beautiful though. Now the under scarves I do like. I’ve been looking for patterns for hijab. I think McCall’s or Butterick used to make one but I can’t find any.

I’m all about sparkle and glitz. Love it! But for prayer, no. There’s something “special” to me about my plain white cloth – or even those times where I have to improvise – throw on an extra cardigan and pashmina. I don’t need to be a shiny jellybean. It just looks goofy. But the underscarf – now that I can dig. 😉

Hmm, I wonder if I could make something like this? I’d like to have something nice to wear for prayer!

That’s really interesting. No, I wouldn’t wear these for prayer I don’t think…Yikes, they’re a touch spendy too. The underscarfs are cute, but again, a bit spendy.
