Summer is the perfect weather for sweat, especially if your climate is on the warmer side of the spectrum.

What we’ve noticed is that *gasp* sweat can mean nasty stains on the underarms of your shirts.

At first we tried stain removers and things like Oxyclean which did help somewhat, but it didn’t eliminate the problem.

How do you keep the stains from showing up in the first place? The answer lies in the deodorant you use!

It’s as simple as that.

What we found to be the BEST deodorant ever is:

Crystal Body Deodorant from Walgreens

Crystal Deodorant

This deodorant is endorsed by the American Cancer Society (which makes you wonder why other brands are not?)

It’s scent free but don’t worry you’ll notice that miraculously you don’t sweat as much and there is no funky odor.

Our experience with other brands that claim to keep you from excessive perspiring is that they only seem to make things worse!

One second we’re walking around outside and the next minute our armpits are drenched.

Give it a try we promise you won’t be disappointed, and if this is any consolation, you’ll be using something that isn’t full of questionable chemicals.

I am going to check this out today. I am always in search of the best natural body care products. I like that this one is not an anti-perspirant and just a deodorant. I don’t think people realize what enters their bloodsream and bodies from what they put on their skin in cosmetics and body care. There are so many toxic things out there….even in lotion and anti-perspirants! If this works to stop the staining in the first place then it will be a keeper for me. I’ve heard of using ‘crystal’ like stuff but I’ve never tried it. Since you like it now I will! I hope I can find it here. THANK YOU!!!

P.S. A friend just gave me a tip on a wonderful natural eye make-up remover and a face toner and this will be added to my list also. I wasn’t sure if I could say here or not though.

    Jodi,
feel free to tell us about the eye makeup remover :)
I actually did a post on makeup remover awhile back before I really thought about what they put in stuff. So not sure if the products are all that good for you hehe.

I am into the natural deodorant. I picked a bottle of Naturally Fresh Spray Deodorant this weekend at Tarjay I mean Target and I must say so far so good.

Ohh I’ll have to give that one a try. I love Tarjayyyy!! :)

I read something the other day that antiperspirants are what make the yellow stains in your clothes, which I found quite interesting. I never use antiperspirants and only natural deodorants. After a while, you will notice that you don’t sweat that much and even the odor of the sweat goes away too.

Thanks Mariam, I’ll have to look up the eye makeup remover you’ve talked about on here. I’ve been using Mary Kay’s and I find that although it’s claimed to be oil-free, it stings my eyes a bit after I use it. That can’t be good! Oh sure it works well, but then again I don’t like to tug or pull on the eye area any (gently albeit). So again that is not a good sign. Perhaps I’m doing something wrong. My friend told me about a fragrance free Chamomile & Green Tea eye makeup remover from a company called Earthscience(earthessentials.com). It seems to be a best seller. She also told me about a toner for ladies who use one. Aubrey Organics makes a Sea Buckthorn & Cucumber toner that seems to be really good. That is at aubreyorganics.com. I can’t vouch for any of the items yet though. You can order them from the website or find it elsewhere too. As for the deodorant, my local Walgreens does have it in stick or roll-on form! Yeah!! I remember now that I did try Tom’s of Maine natural deodorant before and I loved it. I remember the smell as very soothing and pleasant. Thanks for all of the suggestions you give us Mariam…it’s wonderful! Saves me time!!! :)

By the way…and before I forget! :) DHC company (dhccare.com) from Japan makes some really good products. I’ve tried their wonderful Deep Cleansing Olive Oil (YES! It works!), Mild Soap, Make Off Sheets (for when you are exhausted and just want to wipe off everything at once and fall into bed! lol), Washing powder – for the face, and their Velvet Skin Coat is AMAZING. I learned about them while living in Japan but they are also here in the USA at the website. I think they are a bit pricey though and I’m not sure they are all natural. Philosophy company (Philosophy.com) has an amazing cleanser and moisturizer (Real Purity and Hope in a jar) that you probalby already know about! Pricey, but it works so well! Sorry for getting off the ‘natural’ subject here. I seem to be always looking for what works best with cosmetics! I don’t think anything I’ve mentioned has alcohol in them.

P.S. Philosophy fragrance, Amazing Grace…wow! So lovely and soft!

Okay, I’m done now! Thanks! :)
