Pop Culture Hijabi: How would you match these shoes?

pop culture hijabi

I saw a really cute pair of shoes the other day, and I actually passed them up because I didn’t know what to pair them with. Those who know me will be shocked that I was actually able to pass up ANY shoes. If they have my size and I like them, I pretty much buy them. But I really thought about it and couldn’t think of what I owned that I could pair with these yellow shoes.

Now, I probably have a million outfits I could put with these that just didn’t come to mind, but I’ll throw the question out to you guys. What would you wear with yellow shoes?

My first thought was gray pants, but that seems a bit formal for this casual pair. Obviously, jeans would work. But what top and what hijab? Here are a couple possible shirts that would work, but it’d be nice to have more so as not to waste $60

Let’s see how creative everyone is with their suggestions. If you guys are really helpful, I might just go back and buy the yellow shoes.
By the way, Michelle Obama lately has been rocking the yellow more than any other color.

It’s fun for the summer, and I’ve tried to incorporate it into my wardrobe. One of my favorite outfits in the past months is a pair of slate grey pants, a yellow tank top and light grey cardigan. It always makes the day a little sunnier when your outfit is a little bright.

Purple’s my favorite too. 🙂 But, for some reason, I never want to pair yellow and purple together. Not that it can’t be done well!

I have to say that I ABSOLUTELY …am OBSESSED with those types of heels! I mean…OBSESSED! lol. Beautiful color :). I’d wear it with some purple! Love love purple 😛

You know, I have a green dress and didn’t even think about wearing it with these shoes. I think that would work really well.
I’ll definitely have to check out polyvore.com too.
Now I’m really regretting not making it to ISNA this year. I could have used a multi-colored hijab with hints of yellow in it. 🙂

wow we were thinking the same thing at the same time haha~!

Why dont you match it up on Polyvore.com? I was just messing around using a pair of yellow shoes similar to the ones you want and it looks good with black or grey. Just see what you come up with!

    As Salaamu ‘Alaykum,

Perhaps, we can go to Polyvore and put something together and we can get ideas from each other’s creation?

I think I would wear a black pair of dress pants that are long enough to just have the front of the shoe peeping out. I would wear a black shirt with a gray jacket on top and then a hijab that has some hints of yellow in it.
I’m starting to like these shoes hehe.

Jeans, a white shirt and a light grey printed hijab?
Or Jeans, any grey shirt and neutral hijab. Not very creative, huh?

    As Salaamu ‘Alaykum,

For some reason, yellow and light green work so well for me. So, light green dress, yellow pair of shoes and purse and a multicoloured hijab.

I have had a lot of success in the past with chocolate brown and yellow as well. Brown top, possibly jeans, yellow pair of shoes, multicoloured hijab with a hint of mustard yellow. You want to be careful and not look like an explosion in a paint factory 🙂

If those are the shoes you pictured, then you might want to wear a pair of trousers with them. At least to me, wedge and dress don’t go together, unless it’s a short dress.
