Everyone knows how to apply makeup in some way (whether it looks good or not is a topic for another day). The real key is how to properly remove it when you’re ready to knock out.
If you sleep with your makeup on, you increase your chances of breaking out and if you’re lucky enough to have really great skin you could begin to age prematurely.
Think of those women you see walking around outside with tons of makeup plastered on their faces. I’m sure you might have thought “She looks like she’s 65” and then find out the woman is only 40.
Some of it is genetics and some of it is negligence. If you take care of your skin, your skin will take care of you.
Here are a few tips to keep your face looking fresh:
- Always remove your makeup before going to sleep even if you’re exhausted. It’s harder to get off if you wait until the next day and will have already soaked into your pores.
- Use a product to remove your makeup that glides on easily and enables you to remove your makeup without any tugging. (The more you tug on your skin the more you lose elasticity).
- After using a makeup remover you can follow up with a light face wash or just wait to use the face wash in the morning. (Too many products on the face can irritate it).
